I just can't stop!

Here are some more tiles that I've carved.
I am loving this so much! And to think that these are al 'practice-pieces', who knows were it will take me.
I'm still experimenting with when to carve and trying out different tools and slips and sizes.....

I threw some small pots to have a go at carving on a rounded surface instead flat.
Aaah, wet slip, can't help but love the look of that.....

I also have a 'need' to go bigger! I think the fact that TK is out of order has taken away size limits.
When one door closes.........

I threw a (for me) big pot, aprox 25 cm tall, it's now drying and waiting for slip and carving. Looking forward to that!
Next week I'll get some some UG pencils, can't wait to try that too!
I'll be doing lots of exploring, experimenting and enjoying the ride.

Suggestions and comments are welcome!

Wishing you well and a fabulous weekend,
Blessed be,
Monique

Very nice.. The bottom tile, sort of a yin/yang symbol, is particularly fine. It looks like you're having a good time. I just love the passion potters feel for working with clay. It's inspiring.
Have a fabulous weekend, too, Monique!

Thank you Linda, the black is a slip, made from white clay with manganese oxide. I hope it will stay black in a firing. no idea how and when I'll be firing though...

Hi Theresa, the bottom one is a Yin/Yang!
When i make another one I want to make it with two different colored slips so the yin/yang will be more visible. Passion is always inspiring isn't it? So are your posts to me! Love reading them.

Hey, thanks Zygote!

Hi Monique! I made a slip with a dark clay (local) and manganese, iron and cobalt and become black. In my case, only the manganese became brown. I loved your celtic knots! Great job!

Hi Monique, I did another post and told more about the black clay, it has manganese in it too, hope you're using good ventilation when firing with manganese.

Oh wow, that Yin/Yang tile is groovy. I've made some cups and a jug with the knot-work theme, but yours are so refined. It's awesome.
